In today's digital world, educators need to explore digital applications as a means of educating and engaging students. Glogster is one of many websites teachers can use to enhance their instruction. Glogster is a virtual canvas for both teachers and students to display their ideas, resolutions, explorations and theories. Users can include various multimedia such as photos, Youtube videos, video files, text, and graphics as well as design their glogs with many different backgrounds, layouts, and fonts.
After creating my own glog and exploring Glogster, I've discovered a number of ways it can be used in an ELA classroom. Firstly, teachers can use Glogster to create virtual anchor charts and display their expectations of students during reading and writing activites. Students can use Glogster to write book reviews, display story plots, illustrate the main elements of a text, and create a story's timeline. Students can create glogs both collaboratively and independetly. Additionally, to increase authenticity, students can present their glogs to various groups.
